First Post: Band Chat is Back. Again.

That’s right. To all those who may care, Band Chat is back.
Band Chat was a web site I had in the 90s where I discussed various bands that I, for lack of a better word, liked. I also listed a discography of those bands plus hosted tiny sound clips of various songs (this was in the pre-mega bandwidth and mp3 days, so they were very tiny, and very poor quality). The most interesting section, however, was the “Drivel of the Month”, where I would discuss a band I truly despised and invite email responses from the public, which I would post (this was before the big forum explosion, and way before the big blog explosion). I got some great hate mail.
Alas, all good things must come to an end, and it eventually withered away, until…
The rebirth: in the form of a blog, and hosted at Blogger. Four more years of discussing the music I like. There I posted many concert reviews, album reviews, tirades on sound quality, discussions about musical instruments and equipment, and most of the time, just good old fashion music news.
And then that came to an end. But recently interest was renewed due to my friend Mark Yarm’s blog for his upcoming book on Seattle’s Grunge scene in the 80s and 90s, Everybody Loves Our Town. I was asked to monitor the site when he was away on vacation, and I discovered that keeping an eye out for interesting music related stories, then reporting on them, was fresh and exciting once again.
So Band Chat’s back, baby. Stick around a while and enjoy the sights, the sounds, the smells, of good music.
