SOPA and You
I’m not going to bother going into a big song and dance about SOPA. It’s all over the Internet, so you can go just about anywhere to learn about it (except Wikipedia), and why you probably don’t want the bill passing. But I do feel the need to repost my link to my comments regarding Anthrax frontman Scott Ian, and his concept that if you pirate songs off the Internet, you should have those privileges revoked.
Most people’s thoughts on how piracy affects the music and movie industry are deeply flawed. Contrary to popular belief, a) people are willing to pay a fair price, and b) people here in the USA that go on piracy binges wouldn’t have bought this stuff at the current asking prices, so any so called lost revenue is grossly inflated. Thus, my rant above is most appropriate today.
